This is part 4 of ‘How Can We Learn English‘.
And as I mentioned in the last lesson…there is a fourth key factor that is much more important when asking ‘how can we learn English’. And that is the development of positive habits that support your goal of learning English.
Because those positive habits will push you on…even when you don’t feel motivated.
How Can We Learn English Quickly & Efficiently
So, ultimately…positive habits are the key to the your success when asking how can we learn English. See, habits are simply things you do so frequently that you begin to do them almost automaticly…without even thinking about them consciously.
However, many of our habits are negative. Now, that doesn’t mean that they’re wrong, it just means that they don’t help you get what you want when you’re asking ‘how can we learn English‘.
For example, there’s nothing wrong with watching TV for three hours a day, however it’s not going to help you learn to speak fluent English if you want to know ‘how can we learn English’.
So, what you need to do is develop positive habits that support you goals. You can do this by changing your negative habits into positive ones.
For example, you could watch TV in English…instead of your mother tongue. This will help you develop your listening skills in English.
How Can We Learn English Through Positive Habits?
See, habits are powerful. Think about how you learned to tie your shoes. For example, when you begin learning to tie your shoes it can be very difficult…just like when you begin asking yourself ‘how can we learn English’…
- You have to think about how hold the shoe string
- how to double it over
- how to wrap the other one around,
- how to loop through and pull it just right so you get a perfect bow tie.
Or another example is when you begin learning how to drive a car. You have to think about…
- how to push down on the accelerator,
- when to let up on the accelarator
- when to push down on the brake
- and turn on the blinkers
And the whole time you have to concentrate on what’s going on around you…so you don’t hit a car or go off the road. It can be almost overwhelming asking ‘how can we learn English’ when you start learning.
How Can We Learn English Through Consistent Practice
So, if you do these things frequently and often…they become almost automatic. The more you do them…the easier they become.
Right now, you can probably tie your shoes without looking at your foot. And you can probably drive a car while listening to the radio or talking to the person beside you.
And it’s the same with learning English if you’ve been asking ‘How Can We Learn English‘. As you do these things frequently, they become permanent and ingrained in your life.
It’s what we want to do here by answering ‘how can we learn English’ questions. We want to help you develop positive habits in four key areas so you can speak English fluently and proficiently.
